As many of you who study our Secrets of 10%: How to Win in Almost Any Situation based on Sun Tzu’s Art of War—where we learn about how a minority wins against a majority—know, we on the Imagine Team have been discussing and role modeling the concept of the Yang to Yin to New Power Paradigm.
In a Yang Power Paradigm, there’re a few that control many, including who gets hired for job jobs, what time you work, how far you’ll go, and how much money you’ll make. We are chimpanzees climbing to the top of the ladder, fighting for food, health, and partners.
In a Yin Power Paradigm, there’re many that control no one, including who gets hired for job jobs, what time you work, how far you’ll go, and how much money you’ll make. We are bonobos, hanging at the bottom, sharing food, scratching each other’s backs, and making love all day.
In a New Power Paradigm, there’re many and few that control no one, because there is no one ~ only one.

I’ve been there, when I felt burnt out in the summer of 2017, after winning Best Business Center and Minority Business Leader by the Philadelphia Business Journal.
I thought, “Is this my apex? What if, there’s more for me to give out there in the world?”
So in 2018, I road tripped and traveled in my blue silver Hyundai Santa Fe for about 6 months. I drove up and down the East and West Coast of America exploring, what’s really going on with people?
From Seattle to California and New York to Miami, I met with aspiring to current problem solvers and change makers.
What I rediscovered is that most Business Centers, in-person and online classes, including the U.S. Small Business Administration, are all about the Do, Do, Doing, which only helps a small portion of the population.
The majority of us need additional assistance, motivation, and support in our transformation. Sure, some programs had coaching, but they didn’t have a step by step methodology or a process. The emphasis is solely on learning a new skill, not improving yourself.
Ah-ha! They also didn’t address the special needs of women, LGBTQ+, and minorities. The most diverse organizations still started, launched, and managed their businesses and non-profits in another Power Paradigm that keeps us at a disadvantage.
With more research, case studies, and stories, I went back to my creative engineer laboratory to culminate with my new and old knowledge and experiment with new and old Imagine Team members into a new program, BizDeva. And it’s the imperfectly perfect recipe of success!
Inspired by Mother Teresa’s poem, Anyway, we hope that this brings you forgiveness, kindness, success, and an honest and frank lens of who we are, what we stand for, why we do what we do, and how we do it.
